American Micro Industries, Inc. Provides Worldwide Distribution of Fireproof Soundproofing Foam

In response to Rhode Island nightclub fire, American Mirco Industries, Inc. now globally distributes its fireproof soundproofing foam.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA April 1, 2004 As litigation continues from the Rhode Island nightclub fire killing 100 people, American Micro Industries, Inc. announces global distribution of its 100% fireproof melamine soundproofing foam.

During a February 20, 2003 performance by the band Great White at The Station in West Warwick, Rhode Island, pyrotechnics were used, which resulted in a tragic fire claiming the lives of many patrons, as well as a member of the band.

To date, at least $1.7 million dollars in fines, as well as 200 charges of involuntary manslaughter have been levied against the club owners, as well as the company representing the band. Another direct result of the fire was fresh looks at fire codes. With soundproofing and acoustics a critical consideration for performances, manufacturers have introduced fire retardant soundproofing foam.

In response to the fire and demand by club owners, American Micro Industries, Inc. has announced that it will begin distributing its 100% fireproof melamine soundproof foam within its global sales channel for industry and homeowners alike. Unlike fire retardant soundproofing foam, AMI distributes a unique soundproofing foam is positively no burn or drip.

As soon as we learned of the soundproofing foam link to last years tragic fire, we began looking into soundproofing foams that would not burn, said Mike Staggs, marketing manager of American Micro Industries, Inc. Weve decided to offer this product for global distribution to limit the liability of club owners, but most importantly, to prevent the loss of more lives. Although all of our foams have safe fire ratings, we want to supply a product that would not burn under any circumstances and feel as though only global distribution would enable us to possibly prevent a similar tragedy from occurring, he added.
